SIBA's presentation to the Smart Cities Governance Group


With valuable inputs from various members Scott Campbell, the Chair of SIBA, presented to the Smart Cities Governance Group’s quarterly meeting in February 2016. The following were in attendance:

Andrea McDonald & Nerissa Wallace (LINZ)

Rick Walden (Auckland Council)

Philippa Bowron (Wellington City Council)

Eric Assendelft (Christchurch City Council)

Roger Fairclough (NZ Treasury)           

There was a good discussion around the specific value that NZ organisations could bring as well as how SIBA members would work with the organisation’s own internal GIS teams. One of the areas for further discussion was looking at collectively creating a business case for Government investment in Spatial & Smart cities. Scott will be following up with Haydn on the above as well as looking potential ongoing engagements.
